Special Containment Procedures:
SCPA-EN-00279 is to be contained in a standard humanoid containment chamber with no less than two armed security personnel stationed outside at all times. The chamber must be equipped with a direct light source that cannot be extinguished at any point during containment. Under no circumstances should SCPA-EN-00279 be allowed to come into possession of any light absorbing material, including but not limited to fabric, paper or plastics.

Description:
SCPA-EN-00279 is a humanoid entity, approximately 2.2 meters in height and appears to be covered in a black, shadowy substance. While SCPA-EN-00279 is covered primarily in this shadowy substance, the entity is not two-dimensional, as it possesses discernible features such as fingers and a mouth. Specimens have also shown the ability to manipulate the shadow substance in various ways, such as growing elongated tendrils or enlarging the size of the limbs.

The primary purpose of SCPA-EN-00279 is to "collect" shadows from living organisms by touching them. When SCPA-EN-00279 makes contact with living organisms, shadows will begin to stretch and be pulled from that organism towards SCPA-EN-00279, often resulting in a loss of life. SCPA-EN-00279 appears to derive its sustenance from these shadows, or at least gain some sort of satisfaction from their collection, as specimens have been observed clutching shadows close to their chest while in containment.

Additional Information:
Scans have shown unusual brain activity in specimens, with high gamma wave levels concurrently with a drop in delta and theta waves. These scans are similar to those observed in addiction patients, which may suggest that the SCPA-EN-00279 requires shadows to exist and may suffer from withdrawal symptoms if deprived of them for any length of time. As a result, full shadow deprivation is not recommended for containment purposes and should only be used as a last resort.
