Special Containment Procedures:
SCPA-EN-00086 is to be kept in a standard Safe-Class object containment locker at Site-19. Access to SCPA-EN-00086 requires Level 2 security clearance and above. Experimentation and testing with SCPA-EN-00086 must be authorized by at least one Level 3 personnel. Testing with SCPA-EN-00086 is forbidden at designated Safe-Zones and Living Quarters.

Description:
SCPA-EN-00086 is a small hand-held device that generates a temporary portal through two dimensional space. SCPA-EN-00086 is roughly cylindrical, measuring 17 cm in length and 6 cm in diameter. The device is constructed from a series of metal and ceramic parts, and is battery-powered. SCPA-EN-00086 has a single button on its main surface, which activates it for a duration of 5 minutes.

When SCPA-EN-00086 is activated, it generates a temporary portal to a distance of no more than 50 meters, depending on the thickness and composition of the intervening matter. SCPA-EN-00086 must make contact with a solid object in order to generate an entrance point for the portal. A small hole (approximately 5 cm in diameter) will appear on the object's surface, and this hole serves as the entrance point. The exit point of the portal is determined by the direction SCPA-EN-00086 is aimed.

It has been discovered that the exit point of SCPA-EN-00086-generated portals are not predictable, and are generally not controllable - this presents some hazards with regards to testing and experimentation. As with all SCPA objects, caution should be exercised around SCPA-EN-00086.

Additional Information:
Researchers have found that it is impossible to pass through the hole generated by SCPA-EN-00086 on their own - contact with the device is required. While the portal is active, the space within the portal maintains its own separate atmosphere and temperature. SCPA-EN-00086 has proven to be a useful tool for covert operations, and also offers immense potential for scientific research - however, its unpredictable behavior warrants extreme caution.
