Special Containment Procedures:
Due to SCPA-EN-00098's unique properties, it should be contained in a standard humanoid containment chamber located in Site-██. The chamber's walls and floor should be light-reflective and kept well-lit at all times, as the shadows cast by SCPA-EN-00098 will retreat from sources of bright light. Personnel entering SCPA-EN-00098's containment chamber must wear full-body protective suits to avoid contact with SCPA-EN-00098's tendrils, and must avoid making any direct skin-to-skin or eye-to-eye contact with it. Interacting with SCPA-EN-00098 should be limited to research purposes only, with a minimum of two (2) approved Level 2 personnel present in the room at all times.

Description:
SCPA-EN-00098 is a humanoid figure with shadows for hands that can extend into tentacles capable of reaching up to 3 meters in length. The tendrils are pure black and are composed of pure darkness. SCPA-EN-00098 appears to be surrounded by an aura of darkness that continuously provides it with the energy it needs to regenerate and maintain its form. SCPA-EN-00098 is sapient and has demonstrated an understanding of the English language. It is also capable of manipulating its tendrils to interact with objects and move with great speed and agility.

If SCPA-EN-00098's tendrils touch organic material, such as human skin, it will quickly and uncomfortably drain the organic material of all light energy in a spectral feedback loop. This process results in the material becoming a cold, lifeless organ without any signs of visible decay or immediate effect on the subject. Any organic material that comes into contact with SCPA-EN-00098's tendrils will remain in a state of darkness until released from SCPA-EN-00098's tendrils, at which point it will slowly start to regain its lifelike characteristic.

SCPA-EN-00098 has only been observed to be able to interact with a maximum of four targets at once. If SCPA-EN-00098 is unable to touch any new living targets within 48 hours, it will attempt to escape containment by attacking personnel and breaking through walls.

Additional Information:
SCPA-EN-00098 was discovered in an abandoned laboratory in [REDACTED] after reports of a "humanoid shadow" was seen by the passerby. After a brief investigation and subdue, it was brought into Foundation custody.
